For those of you know are pretty Trek savvy, you'll know that the Excelsiors had the ball phaser turrets, great for their time. The Chabots sport modern phaser arrays. However, they're segmented in a 5 strip pattern. The concept was that the ship could fire on multiple targets since the phasers are segmented from each other. Plus it looked cool.

I was going a new model from scratch, but never finished it. My skills have improved since then, so I might remake it again from scratch.

It should be noted that the original Chabot concept was done by a guy named Nannerslug for the Starfleet Command game series, and named for a friend of his. When I came about and made this refit, the original kitbash Nanner made was very old.

ah; ok, still I think those pylons on your chabot should've been on the 1701-B. The fit more in keeping with the Enterprise legacy.....

I have been toying around with an Excelsior TNG refit that would have similar pylons. :-D
